I was extremely fortunate to Guide and Support a Team who has been so energetic, team working, well-coordinated and constructive in executing an event named "CHROME", for the first time in India where an Engineering college students teams up to create an interactive, lateral creative practice of involving Art, Design, Photography and short film within an Engineering atmosphere involving their own 2000+ students and most of the other Engineering, Medical and other Colleges.
Events ranging from Graffiti, Spot painting, Sketching, Caricature, Lateral games, quiz, Photography, Web Interactive Design, Game Design etc. giving way a lot of awards with their own production initiative of building a huge metal miniature set of a live man size using only scrap metal materials...weighing tons, now exhibited in their entrance, all these without any art background or artist involvement!
The best of their action that I liked was their parallel donation, close to 500 bottles of Blood in the college without any chaos and hassle within 3-4 hours...
The most interesting fact that I was amused was the understanding they had amongst them, they were from many departments and some of them didn't even know their team members names! Yet they spoke shared and enjoyed the whole responsibilities...
I was curious to be a part of their closing ceremony being with the chief guest, Judges from Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath with a well celebrated and globally reputed Kannada comedian Miss Sudha Bareguru with their HOD, Principal and Management.
And like any Engineering college their management were reluctant initially but for their HOD, Management and their Principal being from Harvard University were aware of the interrelation of Art and Science in global platform thus supported and the event being a huge success...
